“Our very large backyard had fallen into disarray and with the exception of some fruit trees and a small garden, the yard was basically a dustbowl with weeds. We were at a loss as to how to even begin but we knew we wanted a yard that reflected our interest in a variety of uses and looks. Jill came in as our Landscape Coach and set about designing a yard with several specific areas rather than looking for one single continuous look. She suggested other possibilities, seeing areas in a different way than we had originally. We looked at our yard and thought it was hopeless. Jill, On the other hand, saw the yard as merely the first layer of the landscaping process.

“Work with what’s there” seemed to be her motto. In this way, we were able to approach the work and costs one section at a time, giving ourselves a two year plan. Moreover, the materials Jill suggested we might use in these sections. be they organic or inorganic, were affordable.
