What do Landscape Architects give their clients for the Holidays? Why, plants of course. Now is the time to grab some paperwhites (Narcissus tazetta) and amaryllis (Amaryllis belladonna) bulbs from the local nursery. These lovely flowers bloom in 4-6 weeks just in time for the holidays. They are as easy as 1…2…3.. to plant.
- Purchase bulbs from nursery.
- Gather containers that will hold water and a 2-3″ round bulb.
- Place bulb into container and fill with water.
Yep, that’s it. Leave them near a southern facing window and watch them grow and bloom. While they grow in water alone, you may also choose to plant them in potting soil, pebbles or even within small glass pieces as shown. Now go check “gifts for clients” off your list!
